Karachi Sees Massive E-Challan Collections in a Month

Karachi Traffic Police reported collecting more than Rs710 million in just one month through the e-challan system over 93,000 challans were generated reflecting widespread enforcement of traffic rules the majority of violations were linked to seat belt and helmet usage, highlighting the authorities focus on common yet critical traffic regulations.

Motorcycle riders and private vehicle drivers were among the most frequent violators overspeeding signal violations, and other infractions are being closely monitored with digital trackers and automated systems, ensuring timely and accurate penalties. Officials continue to urge citizens to adhere to traffic rules for their safety and to avoid fines.

  • Seat Belt Violations: 57,541 cases, fines exceeding Rs570 million.
  • Helmet Violations (Motorcyclists): 22,257 cases, penalties over Rs111 million.
  • Overspeeding: 1,188 challans for dumpers, trailers, water tankers; 2,699 for private vehicles.
  • Signal Violations: 3,102 challans issued to drivers.
  • Fancy Number Plates & Tinted Windows: 2,456 cases, totaling over Rs29.4 million in fines.
